Join us for an in-depth discussion with Chicago dance critics and choreographers that explores the art of interpretation, advocacy and awareness involved in dance critique. The panelists will discuss the varying roles critic and choreographer play, and their influence within the dance community and beyond. Moderated by Raquel Monroe, Assistant Professor of Dance Center of Columbia College, with panelists: Zachary Whittenburg (Time Out Chicago), Laura Molzahn (Chicago Reader), Sharon Hoyer (New City), Joanna Rosenthal (Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre), and Meida Teresa McNeal (Independent Choreographer & Chicago Artists Resource Dance Researcher).
