My Friend Irma--A Christmas Story
Originally broadcast December 20, 1948 on CBS
A radio sitcom that often made fun of the title character--played by Marie Wilson--as empty-headed and naive. In this episode, there are laughs, of course, but the butt of the joke isn’t always Irma.  In fact, here’s one show in which Irma is made much more human and believable.

X Minus One--Chain of Command
Originally broadcast on November 21, 1956 on NBC
Comic science fiction in which George, a mouse who has learned to speak, complains to the head of security at a government lab specializing in atomic research about a nearby mouse trap. George says: “I don’t mind traps myself, but my wife is kind of getting on me about it. Says it could hurt the kids--so would you mind moving it?”
