Presenting Lion on the Cheesegrater written by Kristin Idaszak and directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde

VTC was created to provide opportunity to Chicago artists and actors interested in creating new works based on the classics. Composed of some of the most well trained classical theater artists in the city, Vintage strives to make each project new, immediate, and unlike anything else that you’ve seen. The dialog we look to instigate only begins in our rehearsal room, so write your thoughts and we look forward to bringing your unique point of view into our community!

Kristin Idaszak is a Chicago-based multi-disciplinary theatre artist. She is the Associate Artistic Director for Collaboraction and the Associate Artistic Director and Literary Manager for Caffeine Theatre. Her short plays Astronomy for Beginners and Only Paradise received their world premieres at Collaboraction’s Sketchbook. She co-wrote Theatre Seven’s We Live Here and served a co-writer for American Theatre Company‘s Chicago Chronicle, an outreach program at Chase Elementary in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. At Perishable Theatre in Providence, Rhode Island her play The Golden Lasso was staged as part of the 15th International Women’s Playwriting Festival, which Channing Gray of the Providence Journal called “the most powerful” play of “The strongest [festival] in recent memory.” Kristin’s work has also been seen at Chicago Dramatists, Rasaka and Dramatis Personae, and she was a finalist for the 2011 Bay Area Playwrights Festival. She has previously worked with Williamstown Theatre Festival, Goodman Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Trinity Repertory Company, Adirondack Theatre Festival, Eclipse Theatre, and Dog & Pony. Kristin holds a BFA from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
