Showcase Event for Becoming Ingrid by Liza Lentini
Set in the dank, gray moors of Scotland, this fantastical excursion follows a lovable American screwball named Christine and her obsessive quest to be close to her favorite author, Ingrid. While narrating with the fervor of a wanna-be writer, the humorously skittish Christine attempts to appropriate Ingrid’s character, and in the process is unwittingly forced to deconstruct her own illusions of love and happiness, unpredictably affirming the age-old proverb that you can’t judge a book by its cover.
Becoming Ingrid is directed by James Whittington and features April Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Meg Harkins, Mikaela Siegel, Scott Allen Luke (RTP Ensemble Member) and Tori Ulrich.
Rubicon Theatre Project intends to shed light upon norms that may be in need of reevaluation, maintenance, or outright elimination; inspiring an audience to reject or reaffirm their own beliefs.
INCUBATOR is a series designed to support the creation of new work by emerging Chicago theater companies. Utilizing Chicago DCA Theater space and resources, participants explore new projects, develop and refine styles, and share their process with the public during a special showcase event.
