In about 8 days New Leaf transformed the DCA Storefront Theater into Scotland. Take a closer look at all the items required:
Piece by piece - Via the loading dock, the set pieces are moved into the space.
Supplies – Gallons and gallons of the paint that will eventually make their way onto the set.
Instruments – Team members hang one lighting instrument at a time to light the stage and eat one Nutella-covered banana at a time to maintain their energy.
Boxes – A unique inside-of-a-box perspective allows for another view of the space.
Equipment (& strength!) – Set designer Michelle Lilly carries quite a bit on her way to work in the space…how often do you carry a table along with your coffee on the way to work?
Simultaneity – A theater production takes everyone moving at once – with a little help from a prop, a railing, a coffee, and an enthusiastic march into the future…
We hope you come to visit New Leaf’s Scotland in downtown Chicago!
