Take the mind of a 10 year-old child, a dash of creative writing, and a talented ensemble of professional actors, comedians, musicians and playwrights and you get Barrel of Monkeys, the company that created the critically acclaimed and long running That’s Weird, Grandma at The Neo-Futurarium. Over the past four years, Barrel of Monkeys has taught creative writing to Chicago Public School students and turned more than 1,000 original stories into songs and sketches including “A Dragon Bit My Head Off” and “Underwear Visits the Drake.” That¹s Weird, Grandma received rave critical reviews and was praised as “one of the most real, uplifting and engaging theatrical experiences in town.”
